DB Time, Average Active Sessions, and ASH – Oracle Performance Fundamentals
Presented by: John Beresniewicz, Oracle Corporation
The session covers the fundamental concepts of DB Time and its derivative Average Active Sessions, which are at the heart of Oracle database performance management. Performance management tools like AWR, ADDM, and SPA have been built on these DB Time concepts since Oracle 10g. Observability instrumentation supporting DB time analysis will be discussed, with special attention paid to Active Session History (ASH.)
